Pow day at Trelease

IMG_8755Today Matt and I went on a little adventure to Trelease. It was my first time there and although it didn’t seem like we got that much snow, it was a nice 8-10 inches at the top. I was excited to experiment with my new Suunto Ambit2 as well. I used the multi sport feature for ski touring and snowboarding and it worked really well!

On the way up!

We got a late start which was okay because places down the hill reported more snow and the traffic heading east was horrendous so it was a ghost town. We arrived at the trail head at 11am and began the skin up. The coverage isn’t that great out there but it was still well worth it. When we started the snow was still coming down and I couldn’t wait to make some nice pow turns.

We took two beautiful laps with more snow than we thought was up there. It was definitely crusty on the bottom, but no complaints here. Now I am just hoping for more snow!
