Hope Pass – Trail Running Update

hopepassToday I ran Hope Pass with my friend Amy. We kept talking about running in Leadville but with conflicting schedules we were finding it hard to make it happen. Finally we found a day we both had off of work and planned to run somewhere on the Leadville 100 course. Halo Ridge, Mt. of the Holy Cross

b hut and crossA few days ago, Matt and I were planning on doing a big run somewhere, so we got the map out to see what looked interesting and my eyes went straight to Mt. of the Holy Cross. I always see it on the map and it seems to tempt me every time. Well, this time it won. A friend of ours suggested the Halo Ridge instead of the standard route so we figured we’d give it a shot. The 2015 Leadville Trail Marathon, Race Report

IMG_9482Last weekend I ran the Leadville Marathon. I signed up for it back in February, thinking that I had plenty of time to train for the vert and the altitude. Then, we got late season snow for the entire month of May and the mountains are just now starting to be runnable. But, I did plenty of running and am lucky to live at 9,000 feet.
