Although I’ve lived in Colorado now for the past 5 years, I’m originally from Maine and spent my early life there. I still go home to visit often and am always excited to see the ocean again. The Rocky Mountains are a good stand in for the ocean, but this salty girl needs a little ocean in her life from time to time.

About a month ago Matt and I planned a trip to Crested Butte to go skiing and visit some friends. What we didn’t know at the time was what the snow conditions would be like. We must have done something right for good karma because we got two amazing days of powder skiing.
We left Summit County on Saturday at 1pm, just before winter storm Kayla came knocking at the door. On the drive down the sky was a dark grey and very ominous looking. The roads were clear though and we made it to CB just as it started snowing.
